Can We Help You?
Although it can be hard to ask for long-term asssistance, our SVP group is here to offer one off, short-term or long-term help in a variety of ways to whoever needs it. As well as our usual beneficiaries we would particularly like to offer support to self-employed people who have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Share IT! (Ingol and Tanterton)
The food bank is recruiting extra Volunteers. Sessions are no more than one and a half hours long. If you’d like to know more, please contact Anton Mooney on 07946 302731
Over 75 TV Licence
Did you previously have a free TV licence but are no longer eligible and now have to apply for one? If you need help doing this, your parish SVP members have the technical skills to help you. Contact us either via Canon Adrian or email us using svp@standrewscottam.org.uk
Feed the hungry
Through our collaboration with the ShareIT! food bank in Ingol we can provide help for individuals and families to ensure they and their children don’t go hungry. During lockdown we have also been able to provide a ‘knock & drop’ service for people who needed to shield or self isolate.
Befriend the lonely or Bereaved
In ‘normal’ times we are able to offer home visits however during the Covid pandemic some of these have had to be replaced by regular telephone calls.
Welcome the stranger
In the last year we have been able to help a young family who moved into the area for work, but who needed help setting up their home; as well as asylum seekers and refugees.
Help those in Need
At the start of lockdown we were able to help a young person who lost both their job and home. We were able to help them meet the deposit for a flat as well as providing basic items of furniture, household items and food.
Visit the Sick
In ‘normal times’ we are able to visit people in hospital or who are convalescing.
Support the Homeless
Working with street pastors we distribute items of warm clothing and toiletries.
Contact Us
If you, or any parishioner you know, need help or a visit either contact us through Canon Adrian or by email: svp@standrewscottam.org.uk (All requests for help are dealt with in strictest confidence.)
Can you help Us?
Could You?
Make a Donation to the foodBank?
Items can be dropped off at the food bank at Holy Family Pastoral Centre, Redcar Avenue, PR2 3YP between 10 – 11 am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as well as 1-2pm Tuesday and 2-3 pm on Wednesdays.
Make an Occasional Financial Gift?
Offerings can be left in the SVP donation box on the wall at the back of church.
make a regular financial contribution such as a standing order?
Even a small amount such as £2 or £5 a month can make a huge difference to the work we can do. We can provide you with bank details as well as gift aid details to make your gift go further.
leave a gift in your Will?
Gifts left in Wills make a huge difference to the work we can do and are vital to helping us respond to increased need. With a gift in your WIll to the SVP, you can help us support people facing poverty and disadvantage long into the future.
Join Us?
We understand that you might be able to offer regular help or might only be able to help out occasionally but we’d love to hear from you! Please contact us through Canon Adrian or by email: svp@standrewscottam.org.uk
