Corpus Christi Procession

On Sunday 6th June, 2021, Preston will hold its annual Corpus Christi Procession at St. Walburge’s Church Preston.

Whilst it is currently difficult to plan ahead and guess what the public health position will be in June, like last year, a procession of some form will take place to honour Our Lord on this great Feast.

The procession is an important part of our Catholic tradition.

All parishioners from all parishes on the Preston Deanery are invited to join, and

  • Particularly encourage the participation of First Holy Communion children some of whom will strew petals in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
  • Parishioners and all Parish groups including, Schools, Choirs, Scouts and Guides etc are encouraged to come along to join in this public Act of Witness of their faith in Our City and of course to pray before the Blessed Sacrament.
  • The carrying of Religious Association and Sodality Banners is encouraged and they will be carried towards the front of the procession. Also encouraged are Parish Banners which can be carried in the procession following the Blessed Sacrament.
