The ceremony of enrolment of new Altar Servers into the Archconfraternity of the Guild of St Stephen took place at St Andrew’s on Friday 6th February 2026.

The Guild of St Stephen is a Catholic association for altar servers, founded in 1904 at Westminster Cathedral. Its aim is to support and encourage those who serve at the altar by promoting high standards of serving, deeper understanding of the liturgy, and personal spiritual development. Members progress through different medals and awards that recognise experience, commitment, and leadership in serving, helping young people grow in confidence, responsibility, and faith while carrying out an important ministry in the Church.
We were delighted to welcome the Guild Director for the Diocese of Lancaster,
Ian Mulholland KHS, who presented medals to four of our altar servers and gave an address on St Stephen and the important role he plays in our story.

Congratulations to Amy, Tara, Jonah & Isaac on their enrolment to the Guild. They wear their medals with pride.
